The ultimate expression of terroir. Hand-selected fruit from the finest blocks within our vineyards are handled with the greatest care. These wines combine elegant complexity with density and structure, and demonstrate the art of winemaking. These wines are crafted in order to be aged for 10-12 years.
Guarda Cabernet Franc
It comes from our Lagarde’s estate in Perdriel. This plot was specially selected considering its cool region and stony soil. Grapes are fully ripe, keeping the fruit freshness, which eventually results in an elegant wine with personality.
100% Cabernet Franc. Red wine made from grapes cultivated in vineyard planted in 1993 in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza.
Suggested Food Pairings:
Ideal with grilled meats, duck, lamb and well aged cheeses.
In stainless steel tanks. Pre-fermentative cold maceration for 3 days. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. During this stage it undergoes daily pump overs and delestages. The total maceration time is between 20 and 25 days at a maximum temperature of 30º-31°. The end of maceration is determined by the tasting. The Malolactic fermentation is spontaneous. 100% of the wine ages 2 months in French oak barrels.
Ruby red color with violet hues.
Intense red fruit aroma, with hints of smoked paprika and fresh jalapeños.
Rich but elegant, medium fine tannins, bright acidity and almost long finish. A feminine Cabernet.
Suggested Serving Temperature:
Between 16ºC and 17ºC.
